Since joining Barnes Roffe as a graduate trainee in 1986, Mike has acquired a broad spectrum of business and financial experience as he moved up through the firm, becoming a partner in 1996.
He is a driven and enthusiastic service provider who is passionate about helping owner-managers and entrepreneurs grow their businesses. He hopes clients find him to be plain speaking and unpretentious and capable of forming trusting long term relationships founded on the provision of sound proactive advice. Mike particularly enjoys contributing ideas and options to clients and likes to be fully engaged as part of his client’s team.
He has extensive experience in providing business consultancy services to business start-ups, fast track growth companies as well as helping more established businesses with their exit plans. He has advised many businesses as they grow from humble beginnings through to becoming sizeable companies needing more corporate finance type advice especially with regards to exit strategies such as MBO’s, sale or possible flotation.
With substantial experience in corporate structure, financial management and having an in-depth knowledge of tax planning in areas such as LLPs, corporate and employment tax issues, Mike is also able to offer his clients excellent strategic and tax planning services across all industry sectors.
Having trained with Barnes Roffe, Mike has the first-hand experience of the excellent training program Barnes Roffe offers its graduate trainees. Intense, comprehensive and designed to offer them plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on experience, he firmly believes that the firm’s strong training ethos should remain at the heart of the firm.
