Gamal Abou Ali is partner of Hassouna & Abou Ali, arbitrator and mediator. He has over 15 years’ work experience representing multinational and local corporations and institutions including Fortune 500 companies. His areas of expertise include corporate, commercial and business laws and transactions; Energy; EPC projects; investment and cross border trade; transport & logistics; maritime & shipping; and dispute resolution. In the field of arbitration, he has acted both as arbitration counsel and arbitrator.
He also acts a legal consultant on a number of investment, economic and development projects for international organizations. He regularly participates in governmental and parliamentary legislative and economic reform dialogues and committees. He is also an active member of several business associations and currently serves as Chairman of the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB) and Vice President Legal of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham).
He is an admitted attorney in Egypt and New York. He is an accredited arbitrator and mediator, and listed with CRCICA, ECAS, SCCA and GAFI Dispute Resolution Centre. He obtained his Law Degree from Cairo University; an LL.M from The University of Chicago; and an LL.M from Indiana University.
