Environmental
IR Global recognise the need to address climate change for our members, our company and the world we live in. Everyone must play their part to achieve meaningful change and, as a network with global interconnectivity, it is our responsibility to help ensure that the service we deliver is sustainable.
- Reducing Carbon emissions:
We aim to optimise our inputs, reduce our outputs and be an advocate for sustainability at every opportunity.
- Reducing waste:
At IR Global we already ensure chemicals are stored, used and disposed of in full compliance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and we minimise our use of paper and other office consumables.
- Caring for our community:
At IR Global we are committed to being a positive influence on the global community in which we operate. We encourage staff and members to limit their carbon footprint, support local charities each month financially and for our own team to be an advocate for sustainability. We will take an active approach by encouraging members and their firms to share our sustainability and environmental values.
Environmental sustainability
IR Global’s founding philosophy is based on making a positive difference in the business world and to instigate meaningful social impact. We are driven to make a meaningful impact and protect the rights of nature. In 2022 and 2023, we’ve offset our conferences by donating a % from every ticket purchased to the Maparajuba Legal Collective in Brazil who promote, defend and protect the rights of traditional peoples and communities in the Amazon Rainforest.
Social
People & Culture: Fostering openness, sustainability, and respect are our key objectives. We invest significantly in our people and their working environment by creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment and ensuring their ongoing professional and personal development.
- Providing a great place to work
We are continually striving to ensure that IR Global is a great place to work, where our people demonstrate our values in everything they do and where their contributions are welcomed and recognised.
We promote integrity and professionalism throughout IR and pride ourselves in leading by example which we do by setting the right tone right from our Senior Management. We consider ourselves to be personable and approachable and hold these attributes up as being key when putting our core values into action.
- Health & Wellbeing: IR Global is committed to encouraging a healthier and happier workplace and we have implemented an ongoing Health and Wellbeing Programme to support the financial, physical and mental health and wellbeing of our staff.
- Offering continued professional development: We support our team through educational and professional development throughout their time with IR Global.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – view our policy here
We strive to create workplaces in which there is mutual trust and respect and where every person feels responsible for the performance and reputation of our Group. We respect one another and each other’s individual rights and customs. We have joined the Breathe Culture pledge to further support our team, read more on this here.
Corporate Social Responsibility
IR Global’s founding philosophy was based on ethical principles, that was to instigate positive change in the professional services sector and business community in general. This was focused on bringing like-minded people together for collaborative purposes.
As the network has grown it has become increasingly clear, that there was also an opportunity to utilise this global network of people to work together and create positive social change.
For this purpose, in 2015 IR created a charity called the Sinchi Foundation that focuses on indigenous rights and the preservation of cultural and biodiversity. Read more on Sinchi here.
Governance
IR Global is committed to sustaining the highest standards of corporate governance and it is the responsibility of Senior Management to ensure that we have in place the structure, strategy and people to deliver effective, visible and transparent corporate governance for all of our members.
This is further supported by an external Ethics Committee of members, made up of long-term members who ensure the highest ethical standards and the continued development of IR’s member culture are upheld. This committee meets at regular intervals throughout the year to address potential issues and are available to other members if they first wish to address matters privately.
The committee is responsible for our member protocols. These guidelines provide information with regard to both sending and receiving client instructions, best practice and procedures in case of potential issues.
