The ftl Financial Services Department, co-managed by partners Dr. Zbigniew Długosz and Dr. Konrad Stolarski consists of specialist lawyers and lawyers/economists which are experts in the fields of financial law and regulation of emerging technologies market. Both Dr. Zbigniew Długosz and Dr. Konrad Stolarski have over 10 years of experience in fintech and new technologies market. The ftl partners were among the first lawyers in Poland specializing in fintech law.
The ftl Financial Services Department to this day remains a driving and key practice of ftl and was the reason of the law firm’s rapid growth. Numerous ftl lawyers are legal experts of public authorities (providing specialist seminars for Polish financial supervisors) as well as market organizations like the Polish Banks’ Association with whom ftl has developed a close partnership.
ftl lawyers, both those trained by the partners themselves as well as the external recruitments, even if primarily engaged in other ftl practices like tax or privacy hold a deep understanding of the financial, payment services and banking sectors. This allows ftl to offer clients a service which considers not only short but long perspective implications of their business plans also from a strict fintech legal approach.
ftl is also well known for its ability to handle multijurisdictional projects subject to more than one national legal system. Statistically at least 30% of the ftl assignments are always cross-boarder matters.
ftl has been recognized as a leading law firm both in Chambers Fintech 2021 as well as in Legal500 2021 (banking and finance) and Rzeczpospolita (2020, 2021) both in banking and finance as well as in privacy (in both categories individual and firm recognitions have been awarded).
