Sylvain has been an environmental specialist since 2004. He has been teaching environmental law at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne since 2005. After a 10-year-practice in the French environmental boutique Huglo Lepage and two so called “magic circle” law firms (Linklaters and Allen & Overy), he has been running his own business since 2015 and joined Richelieu Avocats as partner since September 2019.
He has been writing numerous articles for specialised and national press (Les Petites Affiches, BDEI, Jurisclasseur, Magazine Geo, Challenges, L’Opinion). He is referred to as environmental expert at “Institut Sapiens”, a think tank which bears an observatory for sustainable development.
The firm’s environmental team advises both industrialists and investors in order to assist them in assessing industrial risks, in particular in connection with the operation of classified facilities, restructuring operations, the sale of polluted sites or the setting up of project. The team is led by Sylvain Pelletreau, a specialist in environmental matters, who has been practicing and teaching this field for over 15 years, both in its advisory and litigation aspects.
