Natascha van Duuren advises De Clercq’s national and international clients on IT and privacy issues. Due to her analytical ability, project-based approach and boundless commitment, she has been the sparring partner of various large companies and institutions for years. In 2013, Global Law Experts named Natascha IT Lawyer Of The Year. She has been the managing partner of De Clercq since 2014, and also chairs the IT Law Special Interest Group of the Ngi-NGN, the Dutch association for ICT professionals.

Education and career

After completing her studies at VU University Amsterdam, Natascha worked as a research assistant at the VU Institute for Informatics and Law. In mid-1998, she joined De Clercq as a lawyer and made partner in 2005. In 2002, Natascha completed the Postdoctoral IT Law Programme at the Grotius Academy. A decade later, she also passed the specialist course in Privacy and Personal Data at the TILT (Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology and Society).

Natascha’s daily practice

‘As a lawyer, I am very experienced in providing legal assistance on IT projects, drafting IT contracts and outsourcing. As such, I am regularly part of a multidisciplinary team – for example, in relation to an IT tender or outsourcing procedure – for various commercial clients. I further regard myself as an expert in the areas of security, eHealth, innovations in big data and mobile apps, the legal protection of software, e-commerce, cloud computing, open-source software, 3D printing and privacy. Equipped with this specialist knowledge, I am here to represent you in disputes – regardless of whether you are a supplier or customer – during legal and arbitration proceedings.’
