Karel Nijs is managing partner at Finvision Antwerp (formerly NRB Auditors of which he was founder) and became a master in applied economics in 1993, and subsequently obtained an additional degree in accountancy and auditing. He was accredited by the institution of certified auditors (IBR) in Belgium in 2005, and became accredited by the Financial Services and Markets Authority for investments funds in 2006.

He gained vast experience in financial audit work in Belgium as well as in the U.S. (Silicon Valley). Aside from this, he has gathered an extended experience in transactions, amongst others related to valuation work and assisting companies in acquisitions. In addition, he joined a venture capital fund in order to take the lead in structuring the financial and administrative departments of start-ups. He possesses vast experience in due diligence, audit and consolidation assignments in divers sectors, as well as in the IT sector, given his professional experience abroad and in the VC world. He is a native Dutch speaker, he speaks fluent English and French.
