About Gulapa Law Office
Gulapa Law Office was established by Aris L. Gulapa in September 2015 after he left a Makati-based firm where he was a partner for four years. Prior thereto, Aris was an associate in Anderson Mori & Tomotsune (Tokyo, 2008-2010); Kelvin Chia Partnership (Singapore and Vietnam, 2006-2008); and SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (2003-2006). From a complement of 6 lawyers in 2015, Gulapa Law has doubled its number. Despite having been recently established, Gulapa Law is already representing either private bidders or the Philippine government in major flagship real estate and infrastructure projects — from air to land to water.
In less than a year since its establishment, Gulapa Law has been nominated for legal awards and has been ranked as a leading Philippine law firm by international legal publications. It won the Boutique Law Firm of the Year award at the 2016 Asian Legal Business (ALB) Philippine Law Awards. It was named by ALB as one of the “Firms to Watch in Asia” for 2017. In real estate and construction, Gulapa Law is ranked as Tier 1 by The Legal500, as a Recommended Firm by Asialaw Profiles, and as a Notable Firm by the IFLR1000.
Managing Owner Aris Gulapa himself has been ranked as a leading lawyer by both Chambers & Partners Asia and Chambers & Partners Global for Projects, Energy & Infrastructure. He is also named as a Leading Individual by The Legal500 for Real Estate & Construction and a Recommended Individual for Projects & Infrastructure.
Recently, Gulapa Law Office opened its first satellite office in New York City through its affiliate, Gulapa & Baclay LLP. Gulapa Law is the first Philippine-based law firm to establish an office in New York.
