Pedro founded Baluarte SCI in 2014 and is its Managing Partner.

Before founding Baluarte, Pedro co-headed the Iberian (Spain and Portugal) branch of Schroder Investment Management (Schroders PLC), based in Madrid, which provided investment management services to institutional investors and family offices, as well as to wholesale financial intermediaries (e.g. private banks) catering to high net worth individual investors. He was also a member of the European Institutional Management Committee. Prior to that, he had been the head of the Portuguese investment management business for Schroders, based in Lisbon. His career started in 1993 in Lisbon, as a fixed income fund manager for the leading Portuguese investment manager, where he later became the Head of Fixed Income across the full range of mutual funds, pension funds and insurance portfolios, and a member of the investment management committee. Pedro is an alumnus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he studied Business Administration with a specialization in Finance.
