After studying law at the University of Fribourg, Olivier Rivoire obtained his bar exam in Geneva in 2003. In 2006-2007, he completed an LL.M. General Studies at Georgetown University in Washington DC ( USA).
From 2003 to 2012, he worked with law firms in Geneva and Zurich in the field of business law, debt collection and bankruptcy law and civil and commercial litigation mainly.
In 2012, he joined the authorization section of the banking division of FINMA in Bern. It dealt in particular with new banking authorisations, mergers and transfers of banking establishments as well as issues of governance within these establishments. He regularly collaborated with the various departments of FINMA, in particular that of enforcement .
From 2014 to 2019, he worked in the legal department of two Swiss banks active in Switzerland and internationally. He dealt in particular with regulatory projects, drafting of banking documents, successions, labor law and litigation.
Since 2019, he has been a partner of “Bory & Associés Avocats”, which became “1204 Legal Avocats / Attorneys at law” in 2023.
Attentive to the needs of his clients, pragmatic and determined, he advises and represents in court both individuals and companies, including start-ups, some of which are active in ESG (environment, society and governance) fields, as well as non-governmental organizations. , established both in Switzerland and abroad.
Based on his experience as a corporate lawyer and lawyer, Olivier Rivoire provides his services mainly in the following areas: regulatory advice to financial intermediaries (in particular
banks and wealth managers), company law (in particular : creation and liquidation of companies, drafting of shareholder agreements, legal support in the financing of start-ups, debt collection, execution in Switzerland of foreign judgments and arbitration awards and contract law), immigration law, inheritance and conflict resolution (legal, mediation and arbitration).
In the field of mediation, he has been certified since 2020 by the Federal Department of Finance as a financial mediator within the meaning of the Federal Financial Services Act, FinSA. In 2021, he obtained the title of Mediator from the Swiss Bar Association.
Olivier Rivoire is the exclusive member in Switzerland of the international network IR Global for the following areas: Banking & Finance and immigration law.
He is a member of the Swiss Bar Association and the Geneva Bar Association.
