Similarly, for several years GHP has actively participated in the Pro-Bono Alliance led by the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Law and Political Economy of the Catholic University (CIDSEP/UC).

His practice areas include matters related to arbitration, transportation law (aeronautical & maritime), international trade, insurance, foreign investment, international law, environment, information technology, telecommunications, and sports law. Currently, due to his extensive multi-jurisdictional experience, in cooperation with two prestigious international law firms, Alejandro coordinates the external legal services requirements of a major international organization in 43 jurisdictions in the Americas. Likewise, Alejandro regularly assists several international clients in the most varied regulatory matters in numerous jurisdictions in Latin America.
As part of his arbitration practice, Alejandro regularly serves as an arbitrator for the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, the Bucharest Ilfov Commercial Arbitration Center (CAIB) and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Paraguay (CAMP). Alejandro holds the presidency of the Paraguayan Association of Computer and Technological Law (APADIT), is Director of the Commercial Law Section of the Legal Magazine La Ley, is a member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Air & Space Law and is a guest columnist for the 5 Days diary ( www.5dias.com.py/search/piera) . From 2017 to 2021 he held the position of Vice President of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
In addition, Alejandro has been an international consultant for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Similarly, Alejandro has advised various international governments on numerous occasions.
Alejandro
has deep international experience. For several years, Alejandro served as Permanent Advisor to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government Diplomatic Mission to the ICAO Council in Montreal, Canada. Alexander was appointed Rapporteurof ICAO in the process of modifying the Tokyo Convention of 1963, an initiative that culminated in the adoption of the Montreal Protocol of 2014. Alejandro was also elected Vice President of the ICAO Legal Committee. In the past, Alejandro served as Senior Legal Advisor to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Alejandro taught for many years at the National University of Asunción. Currently, Alejandro is an external instructor at the IATA Training and Development Center (IATA Training) and guest professor at the postgraduate courses in transportation law at the University of Buenos Aires, the Argentine Catholic University and the Institute of Aeronautical Law. and Space of the Argentine Air Force (INDAE). Alejandro has published numerous articles and books. In 2015, Eleven International Publishing released its book Greenhouse Gases from International Aviation: Legal and Policy Issues.
Alejandro is frequently invited to speak at international forums on international law issues. Alejandro has obtained a doctorate in law (PhD) and a master's degree (LLM) from McGill University (Montreal, Canada), as well as a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the National University of Asunción. In 2016, the Association des Professeures et Professeurs de Droit du Québéc awarded him the prize for the best doctoral thesis of 2015.
