U.S. Hotel Performance Q3 2021

Introduction

Q3 2021 started with the U S hotel occupancy reaching its highest level since late October 2019 while room rates hit an all time high for the week ending 31 July. However, a growing concern around the increase in the number of Delta variant cases along with a decline in leisure demand owing to the reopening of schools and educational institutes meant that the U S hotel occupancy reached as low as 61.0% for the week ending 28 August. Lifted by the Labor Day weekend and Hurricane Ida evacuations, the U.S. hotel performance recovered slightly and has remained stable till the end of Q3 2021.

Occupancy was reported at 69.9% at the end of Q2 2021 which has decreased to 63.2% at the end of Q3 2021. ADR was $133.36 at the end of Q2 2021 which has slightly increased to $133.69 at the end of Q3 2021. RevPAR was $93.19 at the end of Q2 2021 which has decreased to $84.54 at the end of Q3 2021.
