On April 15, 2024, the Ministry of Economy published in the Official Gazette of the Federation the “ AGREEMENT amending the various by which the Ministry of Economy issues General Rules and Criteria on Foreign Trade” (“Agreement”),which entered into force the day after its publication and through which the Ministry of Economy modified provisions related to the processing of the Automatic Notice of Foreign Trade. import of steel products (“AAIPS”). It should be noted that prior to the publication of the Agreement, and as a result of various meetings held this year, Mexico had agreed to coordinate with the government of the United States of America for the implementation of policies on steel mills.
