Summer News : Belgium will reduce the corporate income tax in 2018!

1. Last July, the Belgian government (Right) came to an agreement in order to reform the corporate income tax. In the framework of this agreement several measures are announced (they will not be listed here), but must yet be implemented in the legislation.

The more iconic and awaited measure is the reduction of the corporate income tax.

2. Today, the current corporate income tax rate amounts to 33,99 % (33% plus a complementary crisis contribution). However, smal and medium sized companies may, if several conditions are met, benefit from a reduced corporate income tax of 25 %.

Tomorrow (in 2018), the standard corporate income tax will be reduced for every company to 29,435%. Furthermore, the announced measures foresee a « second step » reduction in 2020 in order to fix the corporate income tax at 25%.

Moreover, the great beneficiaries of the announced measures should be the SME’S which will in principe (in 2018) see their corporate income tax reduced to 20 % on the realised profit up to 100.000 €.

3. Everyone in Belgium is waiting for the final texts before really delighting.
