SKW Schwarz advises Wonga Ltd on acquisition of Billpay GmbH

SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised Wonga Ltd. on the acquisition of Billpay GmbH. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

Wonga Group is a leading finance company based in London. The deal with Internet pay and financing platform BillPay creates one of the largest digital finance and payment system providers in Europe. With the acquisition, Wonga is developing into a broad-based digital finance group and accelerates the development of PayLater, Wonga’s online retail product, together with the company’s international expansion.

In the acquisition process, SKW Schwarz was responsible for the entire legal advice and accompanied Wonga with a team of specialists across various offices ranging from due diligence to contract drafting and negotiations up to closing.
