The IP team has obtained injunctive relief in a case alleging infringement of ORLEN Group’s good name.
The District Court in Warsaw ordered the publisher of Onet to label the questioned publications, which contain false information about Orlen’s cooperation with the Polish Football Association (PZPN), with a mention of the pending court proceedings and the possibility of unlawful infringement of Orlen’s reputation. This way, recipients reading the publication receive a clear signal that the content contained therein should be approached critically, as it may be untrue.
The success of the ORLEN Group in this proceeding proves that even large entities with a high stake in the State Treasury can effectively defend their rights in the case of publication of information harmful to their reputation and good name.
The client was represented by attorney-at-law Aneta Pankowska – Partner and advocate Magdalena Wojdak – Senior Associate.
