Making and reporting referrals – why it matters

As an IR Global member, you play an essential role in fostering collaboration within the network. One key way to strengthen these connections is by reporting your referrals. Whether you’ve referred work to another member or received a referral, keeping the network informed benefits everyone.

IR Global does not take referral fees, so the focus remains on promoting genuine collaboration and member success. By disclosing referral activity, you help us showcase the value of the network and enhance its reputation.

Furthermore, members who report their referrals feature in our quarterly referral reports – one of the most reviewed documents in the network. These are distributed via email to all of our members every 3 months. This raises your profile among your peers and highlights your contributions to the group

“Reporting referrals is a win-win for everyone in the network. It ensures recognition for the hard work of our members and strengthens the trust and collaboration that IR Global is built on.”

– Charlie Weeds, Senior Client Manager

How to report referrals

Log in to your member area and select the ‘Referrals’ section on the dashboard. From here, you will be able to view any of your previous referrals and access our previous quarterly referral reports. Navigate to the ‘New Referrals’ tab and fill in the short form. Please note that referrals marked as confidential will not be shared.

If you are logging in for the first time:

  1. Visit the IR Global website. Navigate to the “Sign In” section in the top right.
  2. Click “Sign In”. On the login screen, select the “Lost your password?” option.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your IR Global membership.
  4. Follow the instructions sent to your email to create or reset your password.
  5. Use your credentials to log in and access the dashboard of your member area – head to the “Referrals” section.

Alternatively, you can notify your client manager, who will ensure that this is recorded. Specific details of the referral are not necessary, simply let us know who referred work to who.

Referral Protocols

To guarantee a seamless client experience and maintain IR Global’s reputation for excellence, we have a series of protocols that we ask members to adhere to when making a referral. This includes:

For the Referrer:

  • Provide sufficient information about the client and the scope of work in your introductory email to the recipient.
  • Disclose if you are sending the proposal to multiple professionals.
  • Agree with the recipient on the applicable jurisdiction for resolving disputes.

For the Recipient:

  • Offer a 30-minute complimentary consultation to referred members or their clients upon request.
  • Respond promptly, with confirmation of receipt and substantive feedback within two business days.
  • Provide a clear estimate of fees and terms and maintain transparency throughout the process.

Reporting:

  • Notify IR Global whenever a referral is made or received so it can be recorded for statistical data and shared in press releases (subject to client approval).
