As the new year approaches, we’re pleased to share that IR Global is entering an exciting new chapter. In January 2025, we will unveil a fresh brand identity that reflects our evolution, embodies our international capabilities, and amplifies our core values – integrity, impact, quality.
When IR Global was first founded in 2010, we set up as Ethical Networking Ltd, with our trading name International Referral. Our earliest branding included a dandelion and a green colour palette – symbols chosen with care to represent the values we hold close. The green signified trust, while the dandelion, with its seeds spreading, illustrated the ethical and giving spirit we wanted to cultivate. Our goal was to build a community of givers, a network where sharing and mutual support were at the heart of every interaction. We created a trusting space for top professionals who uphold the highest ethical standards and work collaboratively to make an impact worldwide.
After 4 years, we recognised that International Referral was limiting us, progressing into the era that we have been in for the past decade: IR Global, which has reflected our expanding reach and increasing impact.
We decided to keep the “IR” as a tribute to our origins. Interestingly, “IR” in Spanish means “to go,” so in a way, we became “to go global”. This was a perfect reflection of our vision to build a worldwide network of specialised professionals.
This new name came with a tagline that further defined our unique approach: “A Different Perspective.” This tagline helped us differentiate IR Global from other networks by emphasising that our members offer expertise based on specific practice areas and jurisdictions. Unlike other “one size fits all” networks, IR Global has always represented a community of hand-selected specialists who bring deep, local knowledge and a commitment to excellence in their field.
For the past decade, this approach has served us well. Our members now represent over 60 different practice areas – each with jurisdictional exclusivity – a structure that ensures quality and precision, while offering clients tailored expertise wherever they are. With these expansive capabilities, we wanted a brand that continues to reflect the network’s reach, diversity, and depth. But don’t worry – the name IR Global isn’t going anywhere.
Same name, new look
Those of you who joined us at the Annual Conference in Paris (Sept. 24) will already have seen a sneak peek of our new look. Our updated branding is not just a visual refresh; it’s a celebration of the network’s values and potential. At the core is a powerful new logo that captures the essence of human connection and the transformative potential of a collective.
Our logo has been redesigned to be more dynamic and versatile across various media. Alongside this, our colour palette will become more vibrant, giving us a modern, cohesive look that will support a stronger, more unified brand presence.
The logo design centres on a single letter, “I”, symbolising both the individual and the starting point of IR Global (IRG). This “I” represents each of you, our members, and the singular, unique contribution that every individual brings to our global network. When these “I’s” come together, they form an icon that embodies the image of a rising sun.
The rising sun represents new beginnings, unity, and the dawn of innovative ideas, all fuelled by the strength of our community. For us, it symbolises the forward momentum that our network creates by bringing together leading professionals from all corners of the world. It serves as a reminder of our shared mission and the powerful impact we have when we come together.
You will see our new look prominently across all our collateral, with this centre point of the logo frequently highlighted. The sun is not just a design element – it represents our members and their unique contributions to the network. It’s adaptable and can symbolise a client, a challenge, your area of expertise, or even the diversity and richness of our network’s global makeup.
Event icons have also been created using elements from the new symbol, bringing consistency and cohesiveness to our visual identity across all channels.
Enhanced experience
This rebrand represents more than just a new look – it is a commitment to our tagline of integrity, impact and quality, showcasing the unique attributes that distinguish us from other networks. As we evolve, we want our brand to reflect our commitment to be a collective that’s deeper than “one-size-fits-all” solutions; we offer expert, tailored services based on practice area and jurisdiction. This refresh allows us to present a clearer, more focused version of who we are and continue building on the strengths that brought us here – our members.
Our new website has been carefully designed to make collaboration easier than ever, keeping the member’s area intuitive and maintaining an engaging experience. Our goal is to foster connections, seamless communication, and new opportunities for growth. We aim to empower each member to leverage the full potential of the network and continue making an impact within your individual practice areas and communities.
We will also enhance our CSR focus, with Treesistance becoming a part of IR Global’s mission itself rather than simply a movement we support. We are committed to sustainability and ethical networking, and you can expect to see a greater emphasis on this in the years to come.
