IR Global – New Member Recommendation Discount Offer 13.10.2022

I trust all is well.

As you are probably aware, we often ask members for their recommendations of new individuals / firms to potentially join us. We’ve always felt that bringing in people who you know, trust and work with is often the best way of appointing new members. It gives us confidence that their membership will work and adds value to the group. You invariably know what we are looking for; boutiques / mid-sized firms who focus on cross border work (both ways) but also have the right personality and culture to make a success of the membership. This naturally creates more referral opportunities for all which is always our ultimate goal.

I am sharing the below because we’re implementing a new strategy which I want members to benefit from:

What’s in it for you? From now, we will be giving any member that recommends an individual / firm who joins the network a 10% discount off their next membership renewal fee. If you recommend 3+ new members, then this will increase to 15%. This also applies to anyone that adds a new practice area from your own firm. The discount only applies to your membership and not for any other services or event tickets. It only applies when the new member has paid their fee and has been introduced.

Please note from, 1^st January 2023 we will be increasing our membership fees for the first time in 3 years. We took the view during Covid times not to increase fees, as a way of supporting member firms during this difficult period. However, investment still continued and we added on several new services to enhance the membership experience. Re-investment from us has to continue, but it has to be paid for fairly. Our costs have increased substantially in the last 3 years and we have been left with no alternative but to increase membership fees. This means that if you do provide a recommendation that joins us, any increase will be offset by this discount offer.

Effectively, this will be a thank you from us but also it will be a win – win, for both of us.

We are looking to expand our membership base across certain jurisdictions where we currently have practice area gaps. Now we know that because we have 1300+ members globally in certain jurisdictions we definitely do not need any new members. This means we may not always be able to accept your recommendations into the group. Of course, we only want to appoint new members when there is a good fit for all concerned.

Please note that this discount is activated from November 2022. Any members recommended prior to this will not qualify for the discount. The discount will be applied at your next renewal, once your recommendation has been introduced on our new member newsletter. We will inform you when this happens.

Why are recommendations so important?

1. Allow us to appoint new members that are proven to be credible and will fit into the IR Global community
2. Supports the growth of IR Global with new members that are committed to growing their own cross border network
3. Helps us continue to increase referral activity and support relationship building
4. Allows our existing members to have a direct input into who joins the network
5. This will give you a discount off membership fees
