The issues surrounding establishing fees and offering discounts confounds much of the health care marketplace. Do you have to charge everyone the same? Can you offer same-day cash discounts? What are the implications of offering a 30 percent discount to self-pay patients? Can you offer discounts to the uninsured? The poor? When can you waive co-payments?
