#IRDUBAI24 Roundup

Last week, after almost 10 years, IR Global returned to the city of gold for our ‘On the Road’ conference. We welcomed 130+ members from all over the world to Dubai, at the impressive Anantara Downtown Hotel.

A big thank you once again to our headline sponsors: Blumenthal Richter & Sumet, James Conomos Lawyers, and Parekh & Co., as well as our membership sponsor, Paoletti Law Group.

Wednesday 21st February

We kicked off Wednesday with our IR Global ‘drop-in’ session, where attending members had the opportunity to meet with our team. This was followed by our private criminal prosecutions and asset recovery session, hosted by Martin Kenney & Co (MKS)

In the evening, opening drinks on the Hotel Anantara’s poolside terrace gave members some time to meet and network in a relaxed setting, sponsored by HLG. We all made the most of the beautiful weather in Dubai and enjoyed views of the iconic Burj Khalifa!

Thursday 22nd February

Thursday marked a day of presentations and networking. In the morning, attendees received a welcome to Dubai from our membership sponsor, Thomas Paoletti. They also heard from our founder Tom Wheeler and received an update on all things IR Global from our Business Development Director Ross Nicholls. Finally, they had the opportunity to learn about culture and business in the region from keynote speaker Nasif Kayed.

After a networking lunch, attendees learned how to navigate the complexities of the contemporary work environment from our second keynote speaker, Natalia Sycheva. There were also a number of networking sessions interspersed throughout the day.

In the evening, we headed to The Theater for a luxury networking dinner, sponsored by Martin Kenney & Co (MKS) and Skinner Clouse Group. It was a dazzling night of food and entertainment, with live music and extravagant dance performances.

Friday 23rd February

On our final conference day, attendees headed to their designated breakout sessions for the morning to discuss unique challenges and opportunities in their jurisdictions.

Breakout sponsor Hessam Kalantar (Kalantar Business Law Group) hosted a session exploring ‘The Middle East: An Emerging Hotspot for Global Business’. Our other breakout sponsor, Antonio Varvaro (Antonio M. Varvaro Legal Consultants) took a group offsite over to the DIAC Court, the region’s largest alternative dispute resolution centre. Finally, membership sponsor Francesca Romana Valeri (Paoletti Law Group) hosted a session on ‘Global Talent Strategy’.

The conference was rounded off with a closing drinks reception cruise in the afternoon, sponsored by Caystone Solutions. Starting at the Dubai Marina, we enjoyed beautiful sights of the Palm and Marina Skyline.

Saturday 24th February

Many attendees also joined us for an adventurous ride on the dune buggy safari on Saturday. The IR Global team came home with a lot of sand in their suitcases…

We had a blast and we hope that you did too! Check out all the conference highlights in the video below:
