The International Family Law Group LLP are pleased to announce that David Hodson has been invited to speak by the Hague Conference on Private International Law at their conference in Hong Kong in November 2015.

The Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), through its Asia Pacific Regional Office, will hold a global conference on the recovery of child support and family maintenance in Hong Kong from 9 to 11 November 2015.

The event is jointly sponsored by the HCCH and the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, in collaboration with a number of other partners.

David will be speaking on international spousal and child maintenance obligations within the Asia Pacific region and worldwide, and in particular considering the Hague Convention of 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance.

David will speak about the European experience of international maintenance, both recognition and enforcement, through the EU Maintenance Regulation, and what can be learnt by Asia-Pacific countries where at the moment there are relatively few bilateral or multilateral treaties or agreements covering maintenance from family relationships.
