Giving back is an important part of how MJC Legal does business. Mark Copeland and his team provide community support through many sponsorships, accepting governance roles and providing services to not-for-profit and community organisations.

Paralmpics logo Paralympics New Zealand supports and encourages opportunities for disabled people to participate in sports, from regional, national and international levels. Sports are offered through a network of Regional Parafed Associations, National disabled & able-bodied Sports Organisations, clubs, coaches and individuals.

Mark is heavily involved in Paralympics New Zealand. He has been on the Board of Directors since 2008 and was appointed Chair of the Board in 2009. He is also a member of the Legal and Ethics Committee for the International Paralympic Committee as well as the Secretary General for the Oceania Paralympics Committee.

Tarawera ultra logo The Tarawera Ultra Marathon is a world leading event and part of a 10 race global circuit of the most prestigious international ultra-marathon races in the world. It is an important event for Rotorua and New Zealand, helping raise the profile of our beautiful backyard as well as the boosting the New Zealand economy with over 10,000 visitor nights.

Mark is providing strategic direction and governance to the Tarawera Ultra Marathon organisers in his position as Advisory Board Chair.

MJC Legal sponsors Rotorua X Incubate, a programme to help new business and social enterprise. Incubate is a three month programme for entrepreneurs to receive a dedicated pod in a co-working space, group coaching sessions and training modules to build business capability and help them grow and succeed.
