The Australasian Group held their Virtual Meeting today, celebrating the first day of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Fifteen attendees were present, with Ross Koffel of Koffels Solicitors & Barristers chairing the meeting; and Mark Copeland of Mark Copeland Lawyers arranging the guest speaker, Simon Tupman, as well as preparing and circulating the days’ agenda.
Simon Tupman reiterated on the pros and cons of the Covid experience, with a positive note on some of the more progressive work approaches the we have all been forced to embrace, as well as a cautionary note that moving forward, these changes are here to stay.
As to 2021, we hope to be able to take advantage of the forecast “bubble’ for travel between Australia and New Zealand to have an in person meeting, and additionally plan one or two virtual meetings to be scheduled during the year to make sure we stay connected as a group.
Recruiting as to the needs of the group was discussed, as well as the desire for other interactions with the general IR Global membership in the new year.
Thank you to all who attended and made the meeting a success. It was affirming to see everyone again in our group format, to learn that the region as a whole has done well through the last challenging months, and to see there is real optimism in the region for a successful 2021.
