Familiarise Yourself With The Schedule For Our Annual Conference In Amsterdam – A Competitive World?

Our Annual Conference – A Competitive World? kicks off in just a few days. We’re excited to be welcoming 400+ members from all over the world to the 5 star luxurious Hotel Okura in the Netherlands’ capital, and we’re grateful to our headline sponsors, Everest Law, Sanli Pastore & Hill, HYS & Co. Advocaten, and Wade Clarke Mulcahy.

Make sure that you familiarise yourself with the schedule and the IR Global team members you can expect to see in Amsterdam:

Saturday 9th September

This is the day where most of our members will be arriving, and many of our sponsors and local members will be hosting meetings and social activities throughout the day / evening. Invitations will be sent directly to attendees.

Sunday 10th September

From 10.00am – 11:30am, attendees can come to the IR Global drop in session, where the team will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the event.

Make sure you head to our registration desk to collect your all-important name badge.

In the afternoon, there will be two separate speed networking sessions from 12pm – 1pm and 2pm – 3pm local time to connect with your fellow attendees. This is an excellent opportunity to meet lots of new faces at once!

In the evening, attending members will enjoy opening drinks, sponsored by Thomas H. Curran Associates and HLG at the Stedelijk Museum, where they’ll also have the opportunity to explore two of the art exhibitions.

Monday 11th September

To get ready for a day of presentations and networking, there will be an open networking session in the Hotel Okura foyer from 9.15am, with presentations commencing at 9:45am.

Throughout the morning, attendees will hear from our founder, Tom Wheeler and keynote speaker Mar Lammers, Former Head Coach of the Dutch Women’s National Field Hockey Team and Belgian Men’s National Field Hockey Team.

After a mid-morning break, our Business Development Director Ross Nicholls will update you on all things IR Global and we’ll be announcing the winner of our prestigious Member of the Year award!

After lunch, attendees will hear from our second keynote speaker, Rutger Bregman, author of Humankind (2020) and Utopia for Realists (2017), as well as John Wolfs, Managing Partner of Wolfs Advocaten. Finally, attendees will have the option to attend our session on the Sinchi foundation, IR Global’s corporate responsibility program.

On Monday evening, attendees can enjoy our luxury networking dinner, sponsored by Wong Fleming and LJ Soldinger Associates. With a fusion of Eastern and Western influences, this culinary excellence is not to be missed!

Tuesday 12th September

Start the final day of the conference with another open networking session with refreshments from 9:30am.

Attendees can then head to their designated breakout sessions for the morning, where they’ll be able to discuss unique challenges and opportunities in their jurisdictions with other members operating within their practice area.

After lunch, attendees can then go to their chosen workshop for the afternoon. Rising Stars will enjoy their own specialist workshop: a masterclass in business etiquette with Jan Jaap van Weering.

Finally, if you have a late flight or you plan to stay in the city for longer, you can wind down at our closing drinks reception hosted in the Hotel Okura foyer and sponsored by Paul Beare Ltd from 4pm – 6pm.
