Richard has over 30 years of business experience in senior financial roles in large listed corporates, living and working throughout Australasia. He has been involved in the valuation, acquisition, divestment and post-acquisition integration of businesses ranging from small, family-owned companies to major corporates. He has also established greenfields businesses and structured JV’s across the region. Much of the work he has led has been cross border, and he is accustomed to dealing with cultural and inter-jurisdictional issues that arise. This allows him to advise on strategies to improve business value in the years leading into a transaction and assist in the structuring of ‘win-win’ deals to suit each circumstance.
His qualifications include:
- Comm (UNSW)
- Chartered Accountant (trained with EY and Moore Stephens)
- Registered Business Valuer
- Authorised Representative 001269242 under Australian Financial Services License 230680
- Licensed business intermediary in Australia and NZ
Richard is a presenter at valuation and business intermediary conferences, acts as a mentor to younger CA’s via CAANZ, is a sitting industry representative to REINZ in NZ and is the chair of the Australian brokerage industry business value data collection portal.
Outside of business, Richard has spent over 10 years working in governance roles in the education sector. He passionately believes in the contribution each and every young person can make, and supportive, respectful education is a key element in unlocking this potential.
