Rajani Raj Acharya is a Fellow Chartered Accountant qualified from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal and Master’s in Business Studies (MBS) degree from Tribhuvan University having professional experience of more than a decade. Currently, he is working as a Managing Partner at SDR Associates, Chartered Accountants, a Member Firm of IR Global, UK. He is past Member of Nepal Financial Reporting Standard (NFRS) sub-committee of The Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN). Currently he is a Member of Task Force for Review of Students’ Training System at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN).
Rajani Raj is a writer of “The Purple Book of Province Tax” which is a highly appreciated book of tax among tax professionals, professional accountants, private and public sector enterprises and his articles are published in national daily leading newspaper like Naya Patrika. He has also worked as a resource person for preparing RTP for Chartered Accountancy Professional (CAP)-II of ICAN.
He was appointed as tax specialist in multiple assignments by Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI). In addition, he has also worked as a consultant of Nepal Revenue Advisory Board (NRAB) – Government permanent structure of revenue policy formation. He has also worked as an Investigation Specialist of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police for investigation of financial fraud and crime. Additionally, he has been a finance consultant for the Social Welfare Council (SWC), which is chaired by Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizen for monitoring INGOs and NGOs.
Rajani Raj has wide working exposure with national and international institutions about revenue policy formation and its implementation.
Rajani Raj is a chartered accountant in practice and directly involved as a member and signing partner for conducting internal audit, statutory audit of various corporate bodies, public sector enterprises and NGOs/INGOs in Nepal. He has also worked as consultant for tax litigations for many private and public companies. Mr. Rajani Raj also holds the degree of Forensic Auditor from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. He has also worked as an investigation specialist in many fraud cases of Cooperative, I/NGO, Trading and Manufacturing Companies. He has worked as tax planner for national as well as multinational business in Nepal.
Investigation of Financial Crime, Taxation, Accounting Standards and Labour law is his core area of expertise, and he travels across Nepal to provide taxation, accounting standards and labour law trainings.
