He obtained a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago, Chile, 1991) and a LL.M. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA, 1993). He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Santiago, Chile, 1999).
Mr. Dulanto focuses his practice on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, natural resources and general corporate matters. He has extensive experience representing Chilean and foreign clients, including investment banks, in corporate matters, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance and restructuring and capital investments, both in Chile and abroad.
José Pablo has specialized in matters related to natural resources in the energy and mining sectors, with emphasis on issues of water rights and mining, development of projects, generation and transmission of energy.
Among other transactions, he has represented Inversiones SB (Grupo SB) in the sale of Medipharm; Cosayach on its bid to receive a license for producing lithium in Chile; the founders of Arch Daily in the sale of the company to a Swiss media group; Cominor on its joint venture with Simbalik (Taiwan) for the development of a lithium production project in the Salar de Maricunga (Chile); Cosayach in the negotiation of a long term pothasium nitrate supply agreement with Albemarle; the founders of Grupo Uno Salud in the sale of a controlling package to a group of local investors; Inversiones Juan Yarur (Chile) in the sale to Arval Service Lease (subsidiary of BNP Paribas) of 50% of Empresas Relsa SpA and its operations in Chile, Peru and Brazil; Statkraft (Norway) on the sale to Latin America Power of a 46MW wind farm in Chile; and Inversiones SB S.A. on the purchase of 70% of DBS SpA the largest chain of beauty and personal care products stores in Chile.
During 1993 and 1994, Mr. Dulanto practiced with Gibson Dunn & Crutcher (New York).
