Show more +James J. Barta, Jr. is a registered U.S. patent attorney with degrees and work experience in the fields of computer science and electrical engineering. His practice focuses on managing patent portfolios, including providing patentability and patent landscape analyses, preparing patent applications for worldwide prosecution, and more.
Jim works closely with global inventor teams on a wide array of complex technology, with specific emphasis on artificial intelligence and machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices, gaming, image processing, virtualization, biomedical devices, bioinformatics, and advanced research topics.
Previously, Jim was the Commercial Law Group Co-Chair for one of the nation’s largest minority and women-owned law firms. Prior to that, he ran a successful solo practice. As a software engineer at The Boeing Company, he was recognized for outstanding performance on his work in software for aircraft avionics systems and stationary flight simulators.
