Ignacio T. Andrade

Founding partner of Ponte Andrade Casanova since the year 2005. He is a lawyer graduated from the Catholic University Andrés Bello in 1989, and postgraduate studies at Tulane University, New Orleans, USA, where he obtained a Master in Laws in Admiralty (L.L.M) in 1991. Specialist in labor law, Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), Summa of Laude , 2008. Ignacio’s practice areas include corporate law, labor & Employment law, civil and labour litigation, insurance, entertainment, data privacy & protection and regulatory. Ignacio has been Legal Adviser of the Subcommittee on Occupational Safety of the Presidential Commission for the reform of the Social security system representing the private business sector (2000), as well as a member of the legislative technical team of the Ministry of Labour for Social security reform and labour law in representation of the corporate private sector (2000-2001). He also served as Legal Advisor of the Commission of Integral Social Development of the National Assembly, for the reform of the National Labour Law, the Social security system law and the special law for Occupational Safety in Venezuela (2001-2005). Ignacio was Business Adviser on Retirement and pensions, as well as adviser on labor matters and occupational safety and health. Ignacio is co-author of the book: “Organic Law on Prevention, conditions and working environment (LOPCYMAT). Fulfillment and responsibilities. Analysis and Experiences 2005-2010”. He currently is an active member of the Labor Committee of FEDECAMARAS (main organization of business and industry associations of Venezuela, made up of entrepreneurs from all economic sectors of the country). Ignacio is ranked since 2016 in Chambers and Partners as a leading Labour & Employment lawyer in Venezuela and Latin America.
