Show more +Ms. Thomas is a Senior Associate. Her practice is focused on criminal and complex civil litigation at the Federal, State and local level.
Prior to joining Gertsburg Licata, Ms. Thomas was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and has over a decade of trial experience having successfully prosecuted high-profile, complex criminal cases. During her tenure, Ms. Thomas had the distinct honor of establishing the nationally recognized Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office’s Crime Strategies Unit with the purpose of identifying and prosecuting the most violent offenders in Northeast Ohio. She coordinated multiple task forces and multi-jurisdictional violent crime investigations leading to high-profile prosecutions of gang members and criminal organizations. Ms. Thomas also established Cuyahoga County’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center to comprehensively analyze and respond to gun crimes. Cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, she has tried cases in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. In this role, she oversaw assistant prosecuting attorneys, crime analysts, investigators and research specialists.
In her spare time, Ms. Thomas enjoys paddleboarding, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
Education
Ms. Thomas earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in May 2005 with a concentration in Criminal Law. She earned two bachelor’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University in Psychology and Administration of Justice.
