Joined the firm as an associate in 1987 and become Partner in 1995.  Handles various corporate, legal matters and advises a number of foreign companies as well as Indian public and private sector companies. Advised companies on foreign investment in India including structuring and negotiating of joint ventures, development of entry strategies and structures for investment and related project documents.
In infrastructure sector been involved with power, telecom, airports and Highways.  In power sector, so far advised more than 15 power projects including hydro and thermal.  Work included drafting and negotiation of power purchase agreements, wheeling and transmission service agreements, implementation agreements,.

tender documents for competitive bidding on a BOT basis,  equipment supply agreements, EPC contracts, civil construction contracts, state government guarantees, Project Finance agreements and related documentation.  Represented and negotiated on behalf of clients’ with various government agencies (Powergrid, SEBs, CEA, CERC) and with international lenders, concerned contracts. Clients to whom services were rendered included  IPP developers and state entities, Drafted various applications for project approvals and permits. Also drafted Information Memorandum and project related documents, Was involved in the development of structure and drafting of tender documents and related agreements for construction, operation and maintenance of interstate transmission lines and  participated in pre bid and post bid discussions with bidders for Power Grid Corporation for privatization of transmission lines, a ADB funded project.  Advised Airports Authority of India with respect to matters arising out of the Concession Agreement for Delhi Airport.
Project work undertaken includes work on fertilizer, mining, refineries, steel, chemicals, engineering goods, mining and  highway projects, telecommunications, white consumer goods, automobiles and auto parts, insurance and investment banks and funds, etc.
Involved with advisory work relating to corporate matters, mergers, due diligence, structuring and environmental legislation, conducts negotiations and drafting of agreements. Advises and is involved with preparation of applications for various Government approvals including for foreign investment, FCCBs and advice in regard to matters relating thereto.
Also deals with court matters including litigation pertaining to corporate, civil litigation, contractual disputes, enforcement of foreign awards, matters before Company Law Board, domestic and international arbitration, Debt Recovery Tribunal, BIFR etc.
