Biography

Audrey Naa Dei Kotey is a seasoned corporate law and finance professional and the Managing Partner of Audrey Grey, a boutique law firm in Ghana specializing in corporate law, taxation and corporate insolvency.

Her areas of focus are taxation, corporate and commercial law, corporate governance, restructuring and insolvency. With over 18 years of experience, Audrey is qualified lawyer and a member of the Ghana Bar Association. She is also  an experienced Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). She a tax practitioner and a licensed insolvency practitioner and member of the Ghana Association of Restructuring and insolvency Advisors (GARIA) and INSOL International.

Prior to AudreyGrey, Audrey with Big Four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as well as HSBC Bank, UK  and Ghanaian law firm N Dowuona and Co .

She serves on the Board of Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana where she Chairs the Audit and Actuarial Committee of the Board, Metropolitan Pensions Ghana and the Ghana Association of Savings and Loan Company. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Association of Certified Charted Accountants (ACCA) Members Network Panel Member and over the years has played a major role lending technical support to the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors  (GARIA).

An experienced Insolvency Practitioner, Audrey was the third licensed Insolvency Practitioner in Ghana (IP No. 0003) and has served as the Administrator of NewGift Ventures Ghana Ltd, a mining services company in the Western Region of Ghana seeing to the orderly restructuring of the otherwise insolvent company.

Audrey has also played a key role in the recent passage of the Ghana Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015) having formed part of the team that drafted and worked on policy implementation for both major pieces of legislation.

An avid writer and trainer, she has written several articles on various aspects of corporate law, corporate governance, Board dynamics, rights of Directors and Insolvency. Audrey has worked with many startups, mid-level and established companies to manage and regulate their boards and governance function is passionate about seeing companies grow and scale in a sustainable manner.
